The cutlery collection “Amenite” – a graceful way to dine

Damascus steel has been appreciated throughout history not only for its special properties, but above all, for its decorative patterns. Produced in a composite steel process, the blades stand out due to high quality and individuality.

The Amenite cutlery set was designed and crafted in a marriage of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology in the Richard Kappeller workshop, situated in Salzburg, and is targeted at both upscale restaurants and the home. The aim was to appeal to a wider circle of customers while promoting Salzburg as a hub of fine craftsmanship. Exuding a distinctly modern air, the cutlery set is elegant and light in appearance, and rests well in the hand and is highly pleasing to the touch. These qualities combine to enhance one's enjoyment of every course in the meal. High-quality stainless Damascus steel, thermally hardened and finished by hand, is used. Crafted through a combination of sophisticated CNC technology and time-honoured artisanry, it allows for a high degree of customisation, from the use of different materials to engravings, such as a restaurant logo.

Statement by the jury

The Amenite table cutlery managed, in a fascinating manner, to give exceptionally elegant form to Damascus steel. Primarily known for its use in knives, the material opens up new possibilities in fine dining. Light and perfectly balanced, the pieces in this cutlery set rest well in the hands of users. It further impresses with its outstanding craftsmanship along with its distinctive, sensually appealing finish.
