Dagger DAMASCUS TORSION

Unique Damascus Pattern

This splendid dagger focuses on the artistic combination of its materials: Three different types of Damascus steel, each of which consist of two different steel types as well form the blade base.

Repeated pleating and forge welding results in 100 layers of bonded steel. Twisting or stamping the steel package allows numerous impressive patterns, each of which unique as a finger print. We chose stainless Damascus steel from Sweden's specialist Damasteel. This powder-metallurgical steel type is of high purity and excellent quality. A different Damascus steel type is inserted in the blade and fixed in place with dovetail technique. This non-stainless steel is handforged in Markus Balbach's workshop in Germany and shows an especially high-contrast pattern. Balbach Steel is elaborately handcrafted and meets highest requirements.

Hand guard and rear bolster are also made of high-end Torsion Damascus Steel by Balbach.

The Damascus Steel is combined with a Jet handle (petrified coal) that was fileworked by hand in spiral shape. The alternation of polished and milled surfaces make this dagger outstandig.

Twisted fine gold and silver filaments adorn the handle and melt into the handleform disappear from sight.

A stamped leather sheath was made especially for this dagger mirroring the Damascus pattern. The seam consists of two different threads thereby connecting to the dual handle coil. This extraordinary dagger is a unique item.
