A full tang knife with a curved tang. The mammoth ivory handle was elaborately scrimshawed and accentuated in several colours by engraver Daniel Karagiannis in an original design. A traditional technique, scrimshawing dates back to the era of whalers, and involves scoring and dotting bones and teeth with needle-thin tools.
